Jewellery Care

🧼 Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular Wiping: After each wear, gently wipe your jewellery with a soft cloth to remove oils, dirt, and moisture. This simple step can prevent tarnish and maintain its sheen.

Gentle Cleaning: For a deeper clean, use a mild solution of warm water and baby shampoo. Soak the jewellery for about 10 minutes, then scrub gently with a soft-bristled brush. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth.

Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Steer clear of abrasive cleaners, toothpaste, or commercial jewellery cleaners not specifically designed for gold plating, as they can damage the delicate gold layer.

💧 Preventing Tarnish

Limit Exposure to Moisture: Remove your gold-plated jewellery before swimming, showering, or washing your hands. Prolonged exposure to water can cause the gold layer to deteriorate.

Avoid Contact with Chemicals: Keep your jewellery away from perfumes, lotions, cleaning products, and hair sprays. These substances can react with the base metal, leading to tarnishing or fading of the gold plating.

🛏️ Proper Storage

Store Separately: To prevent scratches and tarnishing, store each piece of jewellery separately.

Cool, Dry Place: Keep your jewellery in a cool, dry environment, away from direct sunlight and humidity, to minimise the risk of tarnishing.

Regular Maintenance: Even with careful care, gold-plated jewellery may require re-plating over time to restore its original shine. Regular maintenance can extend its lifespan.

Avoid Physical Activities: Remove your jewellery before engaging in physical activities like exercising or sleeping to prevent unnecessary wear and tear.
